DP Ruto Pushing For Former Bomet Governor Rutto To Be Made Uhuru’s Adviser

Deputy President William Ruto is not leaving anything to chance ahead of his 2022 presidential bid.

And while he cannot vaunt a united Rift Valley block, he is out to solidify a support base and is said to be pushing for the appointment of former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s adviser.

Allegedly, the move is to get a strong point-man in the expansive and vote-rich Kipsigis region of Kalenjin and he believes appointing Rutto will help him “lock” the region.

The President who has snubbed a number of his requests especially on having his cronies appointed as Cabinet Secretaries is said to have not yielded yet.
